Spring Cleaning!

Will I ever have my house in order? Will I ever walk through my house without stepping on a toy, crayon or book? Will my closets ever have enough room without being stuffed? Toys are reminders that my daughters keep busy and are using creativity and expanding their minds, but they dominate my floor space. Today was trash day so I spent last night cleaning out stuff, junk mail, magazines, boy do they add up! I had to keep magazines around because Giselle’s teacher would have her look up letters of the alphabet in magazines and cut them out, not only was it time consuming but cluttering as when u are looking up the letter P, u have to go through 5 magazines to come up with 12! My friends ask me why I put her in that class, but at the time this teacher was glorified for her reading teaching skills, and I am an avid reader so I was in. But my daughter complains she is mean, I don’t disagree with discipline because I hardly get mad at her lol! She is all about teaching and preparing the kids for 1st grade and meeting the goal of reading and writing, not all about games. So im cool with that.
Now back to my house cleaning, no matter how much I clean , I end up with piles of unfolded clothes, because just as I wash, I don’t exactly fold. Juan does, I don’t. I should make that a goal. I have bags ready for the salvation army, I even started to put them in boxes to make more room and look neater, now if I only took them there would be nice, im waiting for the rain to stop so I can load up juans truck. He says I would make a fortune selling this stuff, but really I’ve accumulated too much clothes that I would just have to put bags out and signs of sizes because there is too much. But he insists on clearing out the garage, etc. so I may post our unused furniture on craigslist. Or be ghetto and put them on the street and with a FREE sign!

February

February came and went, Valentines was nice. Juan and I spent time alone together, had lunch and dinner and plenty of fun talk. I’ve also been catching up on my movies, with blockbuster online it’s so much easier.
This economy sucks, it’s depressing to know how many people are being laid off. I was in the market this Sunday and the lady in front of me had to put back most of her groceries and bought only meat. I looked at my basket and said wow, I need everything I am taking. How sad.
I had even thought about getting an evening job at the hospital for extra cash for the “just in case fund.” But, everyone has a hiring freeze, even sadder for those who are unemployed. I’ll just stick to overtime when offered! So I am lucky to be employed.
I find myself playing the lotto every week now…I can only dream….
These gloomy days only add to the gloom, I just want to stay home and watch reruns of sex and the city or friends!
Movies watched:
Confessions of a Shopaholic : 2/5 cheezy
Secret lives of bees: 4/5
Talk to her: Pedro Almodovar, yay 3/5
Zach & Miri: WTH! 1/5
A Guide to Recognizing you Saints: 2/5 Rosario Dawsons was the good, but had to wait til then end....
